Spinach pesto recipe

Pesto is one of the most popular Italian sauces. The classic one is made with fresh basil leaves, but this delicious sauce has a lot of variations. Today I propose you a spinach one. It is light, healthy and you'll need less than 10 minutes to make it!

To make a spinach pesto you need:

  • 250g (9 oz) spinach (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1tbsp walnuts
  • 2tbsp grated parmesan
  • olive oil 
  • salt

Boil spinach in some water for 5 minutes, then drain it


Combine the cooked spinach, parmesan, garlic and walnuts and blend them


Add some salt, olive oil (2 or 3tbsp) and mix well


And here it is! Green, light, healthy and super delicious :-) Ideal as a pasta condiment or a sauce for meat and fish. Bon appetit!
