I think orange and chocolate were born for each other:-) They are just a perfect match! And these biscuits prove it. I used Lemon shortbread biscuits recipe as a base, replacing a lemon with an orange and adding other 50g of flour and 50g of dark chocolate drops.
So, to prepare orange and chocolate biscuits you need:
- 350g (12 oz) plain flour
- 150g (2/3 cup) soft butter
- 1 egg
- zest and juice of 1 orange
- 90g (3 oz) sugar
- 8g (1/2tsp) baking powder
- 50g (2 oz) dark chocolate drops
Beat the butter and sugar until smooth
Add an egg, orange juice and zest, flour, baking powder, chocolate drops and squeeze the mixture together in order to get a ball of dough.
Put it in the fridge for 1 hour. Roll out the dough (don't make it too thin, 1 cm is perfect) and cut out the forms.
Preheat oven to 180C/350F and bake the biscuits for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy your biscuits with a cup of warm tea:-) Have a nice day!
