All kids like colorful and sweet jelly candies. No wonder, they are so attractive! But if you read the list of the ingredients you won't be so happy. Don't give this junk food to your children. Make your own jelly candies! It's so easy, and then, the homemade ones are not only tasty, they are also all natural, healthy and don't contain sugar and color agents:-) The gelatin gives them a typical chewy structure and grapes make them naturally sweet. Your kids will love them!
You need:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed grape juice (look here how to make a fresh grape juice)
- 3tbsp unflavored gelatin
- a silicone mold
If you want to give more color (and vitamins) to your jelly candies add 1/2tbsp beetroot powder
Heat the grape juice over medium fire, add the gelatin gradually and stir well. Heat until the gelatin is melted. Remove from the fire and add the beetroot powder
Pour the mixture into the mold
Place the mold in freezer for 1 hour. And here they are:-) Yummy!
You can store these jelly candies in fridge for 1 week (in an air-tight container). Enjoy them and be healthy!
