Easy matcha green tea cookies recipe

matcha green tea biscuits

I have recently discovered Matcha green tea (the dried green tea leaves are stone-ground into a fine powder) and I must say that it's divine! It has a unique rich flavor with high grassy notes mixed with sweet aftertaste. And then, it's rich in antioxidants that protect against heart diseases and cancer, regulate the blood pressure and are anti-aging. Absolutely amazing! These cookies are very easy to make, flavorful, super tasty,  and have a lovely shade of green color (all natural!) :-)

To make them you need:

- 90g (3 oz) butter
- 100g (4 oz) sugar
- 180g (6 oz) plain flour
- 1 egg
- a pinch of salt
- 1tsp matcha powder
- 1/2tsp baking powder

Combine the soft butter and sugar and whisk them until smooth

Add the egg, and matcha powder

Add the flour and baking powder

Mix until you get a soft and smooth ball of dough. Put it in the fridge for 1 hour

Divide the dough in many small balls of a walnut size, put them on a baking tray and flatten them a little with your hand

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and bake the cookies for 20-30 minutes until golden brown color

Let them cool and enjoy them with a tasty cup of tea:-) Bon appetit!
