Granola recipe

Homemade granola is ideal for breakfast. Start your morning with this energy-boosting food and you'll feel good all day! It's full of vitamins, fibers and it is a great digestive aid! For a healthy breakfast eat granola with homemade yogurt.  It's good as a healthy snack too:-)

To make this homemade granola you need:

- 350g (12 oz) oatmeal
- 250g (9 oz) finely chopped mixed nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds)
- 100g (4 oz) dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, figs, banana, coconut, ginger, apricots)
- 100g (4 oz) raw honey
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 50ml (2 fl oz) sunflower oil
- 100ml (4 fl oz) warm water
- 1 tbsp brown sugar

Combine the honey with sunflower oil, warm water and brown sugar and stir over a low heat until the sugar dissolves (don't let it boil!!!). Leave it to cool

Mix the oatmeal, nuts with cinnamon and pour the honey and brown sugar syrup. Mix well

Preheat the oven to 160C/300F. Spread the mixture of oats and syrup out evenly on a baking tray and bake it for about 40 minutes (remember to stir it halfway through)

When it's crunchy and toasted remove it from the oven

Add dried fruit and mix well. Let granola cool and store it in a an airtight container  (it's so tasty that you won't need to store it for a long time!!! :-))
